Concussion
In the unfortunate event of a head injury the Parent/Guardian will be advised by club staff (emailed/called) to let them know of the circumstances and the club stance on the pathway back to training/playing.
Coaches will never inform an athlete when they could return, and will only allow training as per medical advise - which is generally using the four week pathway below.
The club requires the parent/guardian to feed back if they think things are not right with their child at any time throughout this progression back to playing.
Throughout every stage the club need feedback from the athlete to make sure they are feeling ok. If not, then we the club will drop back a week on the pathway until they are able to move up.
Suggested Concussion 4 week Plan
The athlete needs to see a GP immediately and feed back the information to the coaches on their recommendation (this must be received in writing and provide confirmation of the number of weeks the GP advises them to rest/recover)

No training of any sort (No DSA or Football)
WEEK TWO
Light training (light running and bodyweight work at DSA – No football)
WEEK THREE
Light training (light running and bodyweight work at DSA – No football)
WEEK FOUR
Full DSA training and Full Football training (with contact)
